Our Programs
Explore the diverse range of programs and services we offer at Johnson STEM Activity Center. Each program is carefully designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in STEM fields.
Robotics
Hands on, Real World Experience
Robotics, our most popular program, empowers K-12 students through immersive, hands-on experiences in design, engineering, physics, math and computer programming.
This nine (9) month after school program provides students with access to a 20,000 square foot facility with design/build areas, innovation and maker space, a computer lab, a competition field and most importantly, one-on-one mentorship with engaging, collaborative learning opportunities. Whether students are new to robotics or have several years of experience, there is a place for every student at the Johnson STEM Activity Center.
Coding and Game Design
Empowering the Next Generation of Digital Creators
This 2 hour guided interactive experience includes everything in the Basic Tour along with a hands-on, experiential robotics activity or an exhilarating and fun VR experience specifically tailored to your group. Virtual Reality (VR)
Our Virtual Reality (VR) program at the Johnson STEM Activity Center (JSAC) opens a world of fully immersive learning in countless subjects. Virtual Reality (VR) is not just a cutting-edge technology, it’s a transformative tool that helps students design, explore, create and interact with digital environments in ways that surpass traditional learning.
Science on a Sphere (SOS)
Exploring Earth and Beyond
Science On a Sphere® (SOS) is a captivating educational tool that brings learning to life through a 6 foot diameter sphere developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Students, educators, scientists and as well as our entire community can learn a vast array of topics. In addition, real time data can be accessed through NASA’s satellites and can be displayed on the SOS providing students with up to the most accurate and up to the minute data. Some examples include: meteorology, sustainability and climate change, oceanography, marine ecosystems, astronomy, planetary science, atmospheric research just to name a few.
